Okay, actually, clementines and chocolate. But they are orange in color so I think that counts. And the combination is lovely. Oh chocolate, is there nothing you can’t elevate? After tasting this pairing, I think not. And during a season where cookies and candies abound, why not offer a healthy alternative that tastes downright decadent.
Combining two simple, ordinary and natural ingredients to create something extraordinary — very a la mode. Of course you can melt more chocolate and dip the oranges individually but in this case, a little drizzled dark chocolate goes a very long way.
And a favorite trick of mine for melting chocolate without a double boiler. Just place a square or two in a ceramic bowl and place on the heating element of your coffee maker. The chocolate melts in no time at all.
